Too many seem to think that, in the end, NHS coped fine with covid. I'm planning a substack on what happened from March 2020 to 2021, inc ICU. I'd like to include anonymous quotes from frontline staff on what it was like, to bear witness. All types of role included (nurse, HCA, doc, allied health professionals, GP etc). Please just say in own words how it felt, and/or longer term impact on you/NHS. Please include your role (there is a question for that). I don't want any gender/age/location identifiers! Just your quote and role. It's not much, but I'd like to help bear witness to what happened in as far as I can. And this is one way to create a record. I can add to the substack over time as more people get in touch. Due to the number (and length) of responses already, I can't include everything in the substack post itself, but I *will* collate all of them into a PDF that will be hosted on the substack post. This way, there will be a record of what you have said here without any edits from me (except things like expanding some abbreviations for a general audience, such as "ITU"). I'm not collecting *any* identifiers, inc IP address. Please don't include any identifiers in your quote (like person names or hospital names). Providing a quote does then count as consent for me sharing it anonymously on the substack article - not least, because I won't be able to contact you for approval since I'm not collecting names, contact details etc.
