   @BigSkyRider @tolawson you're glossing over the dynamics which contributed to the creation of Hamas.

   It's an almost implicit acknowledgement that the secular PLO was nigh undefeatable.

   It also perpetuates the cycle of violence through indoctrination.

   As a bonus, exposes schism within the Muslim world.

   Without those factors, arguably all of them, and more, there'd be no Hamas. It's not just convenience which led to its creation.

   Now, the question is: what next?

   This writer is astoundingly ignorant because #tolkien was quite vocal that #lotr was to provide a common myth for the UK.

   Golly, was there ever an invading army from the East who looked different and broke all conventions of war? Did this army suddenly stop attacking when their distant leader died?

   A ruthless enemy who were undefeatable.

   It's almost like there's an historical parallel. Some super famous conqueror...
