   @mike @sotolf @adamsdesk @grueproof we can get into the specifics, if you would like. For example, Carrotcypher exhibits a pattern of condemning and attacking news sources to the left of Fox News, and always in a way that favors things like the deportation of Mahmoud Khalil and many others.

   In addition to the example you already saw, here is another, where he calls CNN propaganda.

   @Sovereign @dcc @ins0mniak @nyanide @lain @lord_nougat @lain @verita84 Yeah, some of these little Pleroma administration tricks aren't documented well and most of the knowledge spreads through asking/observing others.

   In this backup DB case, the official docs just say, run pg_dump -Fc ... and restore the schema and data at once.

   Gleason made a GitLab snippet which avoids the annoying long index build problem, but at the same time, the commands he gives you actually don't work, because the disabled triggers at data import need database superuser (postgres) privileges and he runs the restore as the normal pleroma user.

   And Pete wrote a blog post about the annoying index and how to actually work around it at the bottom of the article. And that should work with the custom format, but I've never tried it, so use at your own risk.

   Some 232,000 children and adolescents were deported to the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, of whom about 216,000 were Jews, 11,000 Roma, about 3,000 Poles, more than a thousand Belorussians, and several hundred Russians, Ukrainians, and others.

   In total, about 23,000 children and adolescents were registered in the camp, of whom about 700 were liberated at Auschwitz on 27 January 1945.

   Imho the burden is on #activitypub developers and #fediverse instance admins to clarify to users what being active on these platforms means in terms of #dataprivacy and the different modes they can be used to find, link and interact with others.

   In particular, the line "its the public internet, deal with it" is certainly not the whole truth. Public timelines is just one usage mode.

   People are justified to be suspicious given #surveillancecapitalism

   Clarity and transparency earns trust.

   @deanbetz It's understandable, from a technical perspective, the algo cannot determine which should and shouldn't be pushed to the front. And such posts are a magnet for likes and comments. ^_^;;

   But, yeah, it makes Threads appear to be a dating app instead of a competitor of Twitter. Hehehe.

   Maybe they should copy Facebook's. A new FB account won't see any posts until the account make connections or interacted with others.

   In any case, I hope it improves later. And I think they should also work on getting the official celebrity accounts and fandom accounts to use #Threads regularly. It should at least balance out the number of boob posts.

   If #Instagram will not ban my account again, then I'll use it.

   They need to communicate with their users so, whatever their issues are, can be resolved. They are banning legitimate users, and the spam and troll accounts that plague my old account, are still there.
