a large-format black & white photograph of a near-field scene in scrubby conifer-dominant forest: a young tree rises out of frame, having let its lower limbs die off in the shade; heavy boughs of a tree out of view to the left enter the frame, clearly this one retains its needles in shade; and there's a jumble of scraggly deciduous brush at the foreground, including maybe a small sapling or tall shrub protuberance reaching up for light. mist shrouds everything further than perhaps 10 to 15 meters away, but it seems backlit with glow from perhaps a cloudy sky above. the scan of the photo is limited in detail but it's possible to tell that the original is very high detail with fine film grain, giving a distinct look reminiscent of the artist's similar photos.
