Image of a juvenile European starling perched on a slender branch against a deep blue morning sky. Juvenile starlings have sharply delineated black and tan feathers. Their dark feathers have some green iridescence but they don't have the full iridescence spectrum that the adults possess. They have dark eyes and a dark beak. The feathers around the head and neck can be lifted and their sharp points give them a porcupine-spine appearance.
