What really separates us from almost every other animal on this planet, is that we learned to band together to build communities, and eventually societies. The same people who cause the wars, who profit from the wars, who pay for the violence, who benefit from the violence, will tell you that this is human nature - but human nature is also all the ways we help and care for each other, and build things for the benefit of all; from your Mom's decision not to yeet you into the gutter even though you're going to ruin her financial position for the next 18 years of her life at a minimum, to the fact that there is even a human society at all. People are basically good. Which is why they won't let "people" anywhere near the levers of power; only the god awful few who've traded their humanity for fuckgobs of money. The more monstrous the decision? The smaller the decision circle will be. Bet on it.
