A microwave slotted line (by General Radio, type 874-LBB), a RF lab instrument used from the 1940s to the 1960s. It's basically a transmission line with an open slot (hence the name) where a diode detector is inserted into the line to probe the electric field strength. The diode is fixed on a slider, by sliding the probe along the line, Complex Impedance, Standing Wave Ratio, Wavelength and Frequency can be measured by and observing the maximum and minimum voltage formed by the interference between the incident wave and reflected wave and recording their positions using the ruler.
