   @double_virgule its almost certainly something related to dist-upgrade updating the bootloader. Maybe there was a prompt for selecting a partition or something to that effect.

   My strategy is dont do major upgrades until the wheels start falling off or you have plenty of time to rebuild the system :-)

   Setting max No of characters has no effect!

   Going to, 'About this Instance', 'Maximum Number of Characters' and setting it has no effect.

   My firefish instance supports up to 3000 characters per post.
   But setting this as said above it has no effect.

   Fedilab still warns me when I reach 500 characters.
