I guess it shouldn't be surprising that Xelon would intentionally slow down how fast journalistic outlets he doesn't like and their competitor sites would load. I mean everybody knows he doesn't give a shit about "free speech" or "competition" now, right? Doing this instead of blocking all links just gives the people who keep using it and want to pretend they care about that stuff more than getting attention, a level of deniability.

New: Elon Musk’s X is throttling traffic to news websites and competitors he dislikes. Five-second delays on links to New York Times, Reuters, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky and Substack. Most other sites we tested have zero delay https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2023/08/15/twitter-x-links-delayed/ @jeremybmerrill
The richest person on earth, and yet so debilitatingly insecure, small-minded and petty...
If you're an organisation - and especially a media organisation - that still uses X, look for a lifeboat now. I appreciate it's not easy, but you're dealing with a spoilt toddler who can (and will) cripple your means of distributing content on a whim.
