Three-tweet thread by Joshua Hill: The response working class people should have to "UPS drivers would make $170,00" is "good". That 170K includes benefits and pension money, which used to be the norm in union contracts and should be the floor of our demands. Your enemy is never another worker getting more. Since Reagan there has been a massive shift in bosses lowering our expectations. Pensions used to be normal. One good union job supporting a household use to be normal. Good benefits used to be normal. We should be increasing our demands and celebrating when other workers win. Again these good union contracts that can come from unions being increasingly willing to fight should just be the beginning. We should keep pushing for more. Ultimately we should push for ownership and control of our workplaces.
