Not sure who needs to hear this but as parents, you do NOT have the right to control what your children are taught in public school. Read that again.
As parents, you DO have the option to choose to send your kids to any number of hand-selected schools at your own expense if that is what you so desire. The purpose of public school is not to teach your child what YOU want them to know. The purpose of public school is to teach them what SOCIETY needs them to know. The client of the public school is not the parent. It's the community.
Patching the car tire again.
As long as there are nails to poke my tires, I will be patching those punctures.
Hella cheaper to do it myself!
Been yelled at and hit out at by many loud voices. Been at the very forefront of a worldwide pandemic- staring COVID in the face and saying the words “Not today, fucker” many, many times. Anything to have not made another heart wrenching phone call with bad news again.
As I wonder how to wrap up this rambling monologue, Foo Fighters’ “Stranger Things Have Happened” has just come up on shuffle- couldn’t have said it better myself.
Goodbye, nursing. See you in the next life, maybe. (5/5)
Thank you all for your kind well-wishes.
It all went well for us personally. At the peak of the storm a window I thought was properly closed was suddenly slammed open by the wind, which was scary and briefly quite chaotic, but nothing was damaged and after fighting the wind for a few seconds I got it closed again.
As soon as it was down to T3 we took a walk. Walkways and bike lanes were blocked here and there by fallen trees.
Tonight we took a walk again and all lanes were already clear, any branches and trunks had been cut up and were neatly piled up along the sides.
Many of the trees still standing are more horizontal than vertical, but many have also already been reinforced with support legs and made to stand vertical again.
#VGMWednesday lives on, themeless this week again.
As someone who's never played a bomberman game before, I frequently save bomberman tracks on my playlist because they're just so funky.
Here's one I came across recently:
