smmworkersunion: BIG NEWS: on Tuesday, we learned that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) ruled in our favor on Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges we filed opposing the March layoffs! Specifically, the NLRB found that SMM didn't fairly bargain our layoffs, didn't furnish necessary financial information, and engaged in direct dealing with union members by offering them unbargained severance packages. This is a huge win for us --opening the door to reinstatement and back pay for the union members who lost their jobs. SMM workers have never had these protections during prior restructures, and it wouldn't have happened without your support.
