Stonewall Remembrance Post, pt.4 : Impact today. The impact of the Stonewall riots on LGBTQIA rights today is significant. The riots marked a turning point in the fight for LGBTQIA rights and paved the way for greater acceptance and equality. However, there is still much work to be done to ensure that all LGBTQIA individuals are treated with dignity and respect.

Today, LGBT Pride events are held annually worldwide in June in honor of the Stonewall riots. The Stonewall National Monument was established at the site in 2016. Organizations such as Human Rights Watch work for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender peoples’ rights, documenting and exposing abuses based on sexual orientation and gender identity worldwide Tag : LGBTQIA History.
