    I have this beginning of a hypothesis that what we currently call "neurotypical" is a genetic adaptation (a quick calculation gave me roughly 7000 years, so about 250 generations) to city life.

    My current idea is that city life requires people to filter out much of their surroundings, and even many of the social cues of their fellow city dwellers, because otherwise they would be in constant overload. This could explain their muted cognitive and emotional profile and their more adaptive social profile.

    Anyway, just a thought for now.

    PS: Wouldn't it be typical for Global North city dwellers to center themselves as the norm?

    after another short down time everything is fixed! #QOTO had to recreate an index that got lost in the migration which was slowing down the DB and everything else. No amount of resources was going to help.

    But it is fixed now all ques are empty or very close to it. we will now downgrade the DB to a more sane level now that it is fixed (we upgrades shortly to maintain the system). But it will sill be a pretty hefty system for us, and we can always scale back up when needed.

    TL;DR everything is wording fine now.

    PS we are now going to work on a staging environment to test upgrades so we can safely start moving the main server through the upgrade cycle. stay tuned.

    @philip_cardella You're friend saying he voted for Obama twice don't excuse his ignorance when it's clear the dangers of what's happening in America on the GOP side of the aisle Yes he said he voted for Obama 15 years ago but the world has changed and I doubt he would vote for him now.

    PS: he's not going to vote for Haley because Trump will be the nominee.SQUASHED)

    @thomasfuchs

    Exactly this logic is why it has taken me 2+ years to decide that, yes, it looks like #Rust is actually worth the time and effort to learn.

    At this point, I'm pretty sure it is one of those languages that'll still be around 50 years from now.

    PS: Still waiting patiently-ish for JavaScript to please just die already.
