   2015, Istanbul bans its pride march citing authoritarian laws. March goes on, police show up, beat the hell out of protesters.

   2016, Istanbul bans its pride march. March goes on anyways. Police show up, arrest a bunch of people.

   2017, same story, more arrests.

   2018, same story, still more arrests.

   2019, this was Istanbul pride.

   The power to resist is stronger that the power to oppress.
