I fear that people have become desensitized to seeing teachers asking for help with wishlists.

Each year we are inundated with teachers essentially begging for help. Believe me, I see it and feel it too.

I am one of those teachers who would not be able to run a classroom without the kindness of strangers.

I apologize & thank you in a single message, because I know many are struggling to get by. A boost is equally appreciated. I have 12 days before I begin year 18!

Hey wonderful people in the Fediverse...I need your suggestions on how to get my classroom wishlist out there.

Every year there are more & more teachers essentially begging for help. It makes me sad and unfortunately, I don't see this changing.

I have tried everything I can think of & I need help.

I run a different kind of program & my wishlist constantly needs to be replenished.

I have had much support from kind & generous people here. I appreciate you more than I can express. 💜

I have a confession...I love audiobooks. I know. I know. Some people say it's not reading, but I don't subscribe to that nonsense.

Practiced SEL with my students today. They learned about “grounding”

I’ve never seen my kids more engaged.

Here’s a quick grounding tip: pick a color and then find 5 objects around you that match that color. You’ll notice while searching for items, you can’t think about anything else, affording approximately 10 seconds of worry-free time.

What’s your favorite “grounding” technique?

@courtcan it’s hard to imagine how many kids don’t have basic needs, including food and shelter, but it’s everywhere. We can’t expect kids to pass standardized tests as their tummies rumble, but try telling that to the people who push their agendas.

Last week I noticed a bunch of students without winter gloves

Two days ago I gave my students winter gloves

Today one of those students came in with one glove

I asked him if something happened to the glove

He said he gave one glove to his younger brother so that each of them would have one

Tomorrow I will bring more gloves
