I'm not very interested in listening to OSTs in general without consuming the medium it was composed for... aside from openings. Made it a bit difficult to come up with something and my pick is technically not an OST, but... I still allow it. I chose the Bleach Beat Collection, which was released in four volumes from '05 to '09. Each one consists of ~5 CDs, including three character songs each.
I also made a (mostly) german list with some great songs. One of the titles isn't referring to shadows, but it's mentioned in the song itself... a lot!?
This topic led to a very diverse selection of songs. A variety of genres and decades are represented throughout my picks. There's something to enjoy for everyone :Kissy:
Of course, there's also a list with german songs. How did you know? :LaughEvil1: :LaughEvil2:
I'm glad to get one song on the list, which isn't just something "flame" or "burning" but also very important in regards of humanity and fire. At least in a mythological sense.
This weeks topic is a chance to put some hot artists on display. I picked between some classics, new talents and a version of an old song that comes fresh from the fire.
For the last couple of days, I had an opening of an old Anime stuck in my head. The show is called "Hikari no Densetsu" but it was changed to "Die kleinen Superstars" (The Little Superstars) in germany.
It is a show with only 19 episodes that is based on the 1985 Shoujo Manga by Izumi Asō. It tells the story of Hikari, a teenage girl who joins the rhythmic gymnastics club at her school.
I can't describe how I feel about the opening. I always thought of it as bland and unfinished, but it still gets stuck in my head every now and then. Even more often than other, better songs :akkoShrug:
This weeks theme is looking for songs about birth, living or death. The first song that came to mind is a highly emotional and very sad one. The song "Billie Jo" by german Rapper Casper, which tells the story of his own cousin in America and her husband, a war veteran struggling with the things he experienced, who in the end kills his own family and himself.
This was an interesting week. I was surprised how different the English and German picks are this week. The English songs are all somewhat nostalgic. I also think they're enjoyable for most people. At least the first three songs.
I'm also happy that I can finally include my favorite song of my favorite movie!?
I really tried to cut down on songs, but five is the lowest I can go. For a brief moment, I considered cutting the Kamen Rider opening, but to be honest... I don't think that another song ever certificially banged as hard as this one!?
I wouldn't describe myself as a globetrotter, but traveling can be fun. Especially as a child. One thing I'll always associate with vacation is camping in Italy and as a german boy there is only one way to get there and it's the only way since my grandparents went for their first vacation: Driving down the Brennerautobahn with our caravan. And even if it isn't my kind of music, this song is the one that encapsulates this feeling the best.
#AlbumMonday theme this week is... what? No theme? Perfect! That's exactly the topic I need to talk about my favorite "metal idols" and their new album... Reborn Superstar! by Hanabie. It's amazing, unconventional and the type of high energy that gets me through the summer. #Metal#JMetal#JMusic
