@jplebreton it's wild that anyone who lives a life of credulity at this point is allowed to refer to themselves as smart in public. we're decades into tech companies always lying about everything, and enshittifying in a predictable way. anyone who doesn't see where that leads *everything* cannot, by definition, be smart.
There has been such an increase in otherwise good games being released without any level of testing. It's unfortunate. But like, for the love of god, mash buttons while you test your game.
I have had 3 games I have otherwise enjoy (and which are well received) that have ended up in weird states because I pressed a button while a UI was up.
if I could give gamedevs one super useful bit of knowledge I've gleaned over my 25+ years of gamedev... it's that when you are testing, press buttons like a monkey. mash shit. press everything at the same time. press random buttons at questionable times.
you will uncover a huge amount of bugs this way and the sooner you find them the easier they are to fix.
@amydentata it's why I get mad at talk of "openness" because it always reveals libertarian techbros who believe that no one should be denied access to their tech.
imo that makes them complicit supporters of nazi bars.
is there an accessibility tool for windows that will allow me to run some global process that will read all text on screen and allow me to search it?
I'm dealing with increasing cognitive issues where when faced with a wall of text I cannot find something I am looking for because my eyes jump around and I can't focus.
I feel like this kind of thing should be software that exists.
please game developers, please, PLEASE, add font size options to your UI heavy games. I am so tired of having to bail from a game because I simply can't read the UI easily.
