In the past week, thanks to my diligent use of snacks and naps, I have corrected Benson's gaunt diet aesthetic while I was on bereavement leave.

He is now looking like the thicc meatball boi he is!!

I snuggled with him this morning and just patted his pooch. It was so comforting. He just looked at me and then went back to sleep.

I appreciate all the earnest folks who are explaining why their institution's DEIA program was good, what impact it had, and why the govt eliminating it is awful. Really. I do.

But you're communicating the wrong thing. Because that's not the fight you're in.

The fight you're in is about segregation. The government is forcing you to choose segregation -- the obstruction of non white people (and white women) from entering or advancing in your industry.

You need to start clarifying THAT.
Be. Clear.

Help the media and public call a Thing a THING.

Hold your industry accountable by CALLING THE THING THE THING.

Make that room, that meeting, effing uncomfortable.

And force the question: Are we choosing segregation so that we don't end up on a fucked up list monitored by some 19 yo incel?

I've basically been an emotional mess all day.

Bursting into tears when Benson booped me on his way to boarding.

Again, when the daycare lady said they'd take good care of Benson while I was with family.

The three Southwest Air ladies who helped me just now are freaking angels.

I reserved the wrong date for my ticket home. When she said my reservation was for March I broke into tears and whispered, My father just died i have to get home.

Immediately two other women came over helping the first lady navigate their system to rebook me. I didn't even ask. One of the women was watching me and also crying and she had to walk away. She whispered to her coworker, This is too much.

There was now a small crowd of southwest folks grabbing my bag, making sure I was on preboard while I was just hunched over, crying quietly. All I could think was how if I fucked this up my sister would never forgive me.

One of the women grabbed my hand and said, We did it. You're rebooked for LA at 1 and you're coming back on Saturday. Don't worry. You're going home.

I could barely thank them. I started to walk away then came back and got their names.
