We're going to show up for each other, figure out what we need to learn, skill up, and fight for each other. Because we're gonna have to. Let's ground ourselves in our values and our refusal to abandon one another. Remember who you want to be, come what may, and move in the direction of your values.
I wrote a book with Mariame Kaba (Let This Radicalize You) about the kind of work that's ahead of us. It's there for you if you need it. Together, we will foster courage and solidarity, and we will fight for each other.
I shared some notes from my most recent talk on fascism via my newsletter today. The post includes my thoughts on the authoritarian and fascist trajectories we're seeing, the kind of organizing we need, and a number of resources for political ed. https://mskellymhayes.substack.com/p/some-notes-from-fascism-101

I cry so much lately. I don't try to hold it in. From the "Final Thoughts" section of my newsletter: "Don't try to lock your grief out of the house. Eventually, it will beat down your door and overpower you." https://mskellymhayes.substack.com/p/must-read-roundup-1132023
It's also worth pausing to think about all of the things Trump did that were infinitely worse than a hush money scandal. A great many of those things were legal.
Most folks I know who are worried about AI aren’t worried about these programs becoming self aware and oppressing us. That’s not a thing. We’re worried about all the ways these systems will ramp up existing inequalities and further obliterate our shared reality as human beings. That’s already happening.
