Yes. I am suspended by mastodon.social! An entire instance blocked a user who isn't even on their own server. No warning and no way to request an appeal.
It doesn't matter which server you're on. When the vast majority of users are on mastodon.social, it can dictate and enforce its rules on everyone. And if you don't follow their rules, you become invisible.
well done. You saved humanity by suspending me! @Gargron

Hirad (hirad@mastodon.hirad.it)'s status on Wednesday, 19-Jul-2023 02:07:42 JST Hirad @bot it's something that I've been vocal about for quite some time. I was sure I'll get the taste of it myself at some point.

Hirad (hirad@mastodon.hirad.it)'s status on Wednesday, 19-Jul-2023 02:07:23 JST Hirad @Bead @akorenchkin @bot @malakai I've always been vocal about this attitude on fedi and Mastodon in particular and the obsession with defederating and limiting.
I don't really care much about being limited. To me this was just another example of how easily admins can control users, even those that aren't even on their own instance.
There are a lot of people and instances that are facing the same treatment every day. -

Hirad (hirad@mastodon.hirad.it)'s status on Wednesday, 19-Jul-2023 01:33:50 JST Hirad @malakai @bot @Bead @akorenchkin I asked my friend who is on my instance to test and he didn't have this issue. So it's definitely not the entire instance and only my own account.
The weird part is that I can see all the toots from m.s. I just can't follow the accounts.
I'm guessing I'm just limited.
If that's the case, then well done to them. Limiting without even saying a word or giving a reason so I could request an appeal. -

Hirad (hirad@mastodon.hirad.it)'s status on Wednesday, 19-Jul-2023 01:08:49 JST Hirad I just noticed I’m unable to follow anyone on mastodon.social. Even my own old (public) account over there! At first it seems I can follow without issue. But as soon as I refresh, it looks like I’ve sent follow request, even though the accounts are public. And there is no notification on the other side either.
Is this #Mastodon way of shadowbanning users?!
#MastoAdmin

No matter how you feel about it, this is no different from segregation.
