Most importantly, this fixes an issue where malicious actors can create accounts on closed-registration #WriteFreely instances running the previous v0.16 or below.

We've heard reports of this ACTIVELY being exploited today across many WriteFreely instances -- multi- and single-user.

We advise ALL WriteFreely admins to upgrade immediately. You may also notice many unwanted accounts on your instance that need to be manually cleaned up. We'll be adding admin tools to make this quicker soon.

WriteFreely v0.17 is out now!

⚠️ We recommend *all* admins upgrade as soon as possible, as this release includes some critical security fixes.

Here's that (!! work in progress !!) command-line interface for migrating from #WordPress to #WriteFreely. It's got the basics of migrating text posts, but still need to figure out what to do with images and other content types.

Our next release (v0.15.1) will fix support for following WriteFreely blogs from @gotosocial! There was a bug before that prevented this. https://github.com/writefreely/writefreely/pull/1000

There's a bugfix release (v0.15.1) coming soon. This will patch a few long-living issues and one annoying bug introduced in the last release, where the Subscribers page doesn't show the correct date that someone subscribed to your blog.
