Lee, in uniform, stood in a downtown Charlottesville park for nearly a century. It was at the center of a deadly white nationalist rally in 2017, when Neo-Nazis and white supremacists tried to stop the city's plans to remove the statue. It has now been melted down.

It's wild* how I've had clients rotting in jail as they await trial on their marijuana cases because the judges believed #marijuana to be a "danger to the public," yet #Trump remains free after being indicted in 4 separate felony cases that involve conduct where people died (January 6 insurrection) and an attempts to overthrow our country's government.

Please don’t confuse what is legal with what is right. There is some overlap, of course, but not as much as one might think. Laws are generally written by the rich and powerful to protect their interests, often at the expense of the poor and weak. Many atrocities are lawful, and many acts of mercy are unlawful. I say this as an attorney.
