iOS 18.3 is out and it fixes several important vulnerabilities, including one exploited in the wild (on older versions only it seems). You should update soon! https://support.apple.com/en-us/122066
I finished reading the New York Magazine piece on Neil Gaiman rape and sexual assault accusation. The story is just awful, another one on a powerful man abusing his power. So many lives broken, I hope his victims will be able to recover and live a long and happy life.
I migrated my Shaarli instance to https://shaarli.maynier.eu/ You can find there or follow with your favorite RSS reader all the articles I find interesting on tech and politics
One things that is really interesting and scary in the US Telecom hack by a Chinese threat actor is how much internet surveillance is putting all of us at risk of such attack. Here is what Verizon says "While pursuing the small number of targets, the threat actor also accessed a small percentage of mobile internet access records and mobile call records for other Verizon wireless customers. The mobile internet access records included the mobile telephone number, device hardware identifier known as an IMSI, time and date of the internet session, internet destination known as a destination IP address, and cell tower location." It means that Verizon is keeping track of every IP contacted by a customer over Internet, and some of that was accessed by a foreign threat actor. #infosec https://www.verizon.com/about/salt-typhoon-matter-update
I am trying to catch up on #38C3 talks and I have to acknowledge that there are way too many of them that looks good. Any recommendations of talks that one shouldn't miss? (on all topics and preferably English but I can do with translation)
I love #Mastodon for all the amazing features there are, that make life so much better. Especially these one: -Edit -Follow only in some languages -Follow but hide boosts -Content Warnings
