End of day two at sea — albatrosses following the ship silhouetted against the sunset
Tomorrow - Falklands
Morning of day 2 on the Ocean Victory - beautiful brisk day, 40 knots winds, sun, a little swell - feels great!
Just a quick shot from my room’s ‘window’ on the ship - a pleasantly lively sea!
This Antarctic expedition has just reached new highs - they serve scones and cream in the afternoon!
Know this is not any sort of deal at all for most folks, but having live in the US for so long this is a slice of heaven :)
Loving the strategically placed barf bags tucked into each railing around the ship - if they had candles in it would all be rather festive!
Day one on our expedition to Antarctica - it’s 10:30 at night and we’ve just started our voyage down the Beagle Channel and are heading out toward the Falklands!
A final goodbye to Ushuaia before heading off to the Falklands - leg one of the journey!
Embarkation time - for the next 20 days we’ll be living on the Ocean Victory as we head to the Antarctic Peninsula!

We’re bouncing with joy to be here in Tiera del Fuego! #ASUAntarctica2022
Tierra del Fuego was an absolute magical place as our first stop on #ASUAntarctica2022 -- think it took all of our breaths away.
Today we board our ship the Albatros Ocean Victory and begin the first leg of our sea voyage, heading for the Falklands (Malvinas).
In the meantime, a few more photos from the Beagle Channel in Tierra del Fuego
The lighthouse at the end of the world - along the Beagle Channel with #ASUAntarctica2022 earlier today
Our first #penguins!

Here we're visiting Estancia Harberton amidst utterly stunning scenery!
Beautiful panoramic from Ushuaia airport after we landed yesterday, from Hannah Langewicz #ASUAntarctica2022
First closeup encounter with wildlife - seals and cormorants (which look remarkably like penguins from a distance!) #ASUAntarctica2022
