Trump is getting worse, more dangerous, more bent on inciting violence. This is not a presidential candidate; this is a criminal defendant seeking to save his own skin no matter how much damage it causes. The media must stop pretending this is in any way a normal presidential horse race.

On the same day Joe Biden announces he’s running for a second term, reiterating his commitment to “the soul of the nation” and personal freedom, Donald Trump faces the first day of a civil trial for alleged rape.

Don’t forget the MAGA noisemakers are a minority. Don’t forget when you hear all the Republicans attacking DA Bragg and defending Trump, even before indictments are unsealed, the majority of Americans disagree.

How’s this for an idea that should not be controversial: Ban assault rifles, not books.

What does it say about the US justice system that over two years after the Capitol attack and deadly insurrection, its ringleader is not only still unindicted, he’s still inciting violence and plotting to retake office?

The insurrection is not over.

Yes, there are too many malignant narcissists and sociopaths in positions of power. But the bigger problem is the number of voters drawn to them and enablers cheering them on.

What kind of a man, said to be the world’s richest, spends $44 billion to give a platform for racists, antisemites, white nationalists and others to spread hate and abuse? What kind of man defends a man who abuses his power to incite violence and end the peaceful transfer of power?

Hmm. A president attempts a coup to dissolve the Congress and seize power. That same day he’s arrested. That’s how they handle such criminality in Peru.

Elon Musk pushing Hunter Biden’s laptop as the world’s biggest story succeeded in distracting people for a minute from Kanye West’s despicable Hitler praising which succeeded for a few minutes from the focus on Trump’s theft of government documents and his incitement of insurrection.

We can’t minimize Trump’s dinner with antisemite and holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and the refusal of leading Republicans to speak out against this. While none of this is surprising, it’s the latest sign that if Trump is not held criminally accountable and ends up as the GOP candidate, he will drive America to the bottom and seek vengeance against all enemies, real and imagined. Silence is complicity.
