This reporting makes an atrocity sound like a gas main exploded. Portraying a tragedy of war as though it were an accident is an abrogation of journalistic responsibility to the lives lost. Even without certainty over bombing of the hospital, #Hamas and #Israel are responsible in different ways for failing the citizens killed in this ongoing conflict.

Blood is on the hands of leaders in this war - journalists should highlight that political responsibility. We need #peace #journalism now more than ever and that should be highlighting pathways forward not creating ‘us and them’ polarising binary discourses or minimising agency of leaders, it must be helping us interpret events and find pathways to peace.
