I crosspost sometimes, but I'm finding it interesting to see what's different about here vs there. I feel like I can be more real here, esp in followers-only posts. There seems more newsy because of all the journalists and quote posts. And honestly? Fewer reply guys there.

(Please don't have here vs there arguments in my comments. Loyalty is for friends, not social networks.)

So far, my biggest complaint about Bluesky is how everyone says it's great because it "has no algorithm" which is a bananas thing to say because it has tens of thousands of algorithms called Feeds that you can choose from.

And before anyone here gets preachy because Masto has "no algos," yes, it does, it's just called Explore.

Algos aren't the problem and never have been. Loss of control is the problem.

Don't get me started.
