My in-laws are Puerto Rican. We don't often get along due to past issues. Yesterday, while doing cake and presents for my daughter birthday, my father in-law asks my daughter in English "when is your dad going to learn Spanish?" I was standing almost next to him at the moment. My daughter said in a joking manner "oh, he won't, he's a bum..." I was stunned and pissed. I told my daughter to "stop it and be nice." If it wasn't her birthday, I would have lost it. How mad would you be?
