There was a time I'd go out at 9 or 10 to party on a Saturday night and be out all night.

I just had a glass of wine with dinner. Goodnight. 🥱

Sometimes people are surprised that I am very happy with my very modest existence, if they learn that it was once one of relative abundance.

They perceive it as a loss that should have broken me, not realizing that after the abundance, I was also lost everything and had nothing but the clothes on my back, before reaching this new modest level of enough.

There's a lot of lessons in such a journey.

The anxiety from seeing someone start the dishwasher when there's still room for one more dish, if they'd just rearrange everything.

Yes, Canadians are known for their politeness.. to their friends.

If we don't post anything for a while, people may assume that we're out there doing important things and enjoying life.
Of course it's not true, but why ruin the mystique.

Apparently I did not have the right-of-way.

News: Everything is on fire and the air is chewable.

Government: We're bringing back coal.

After years of complaining about heart type symptoms that despite extensive examinations, testing, etc., could never be linked to a cause..
until I had cardiac arrest during another hospital visit..

Weird part during recovery is still being told how healthy my heart is. "Just" an electrical issue.

You might think it impossible for a gnarly rogue eyebrow hair to suddenly appear and grow 3 times as long as the rest, seemingly overnight, but you'd be wrong.

Asking me if I "want" to do any specific chore or errand seems like a wasted question. 🤔

Read something that mentioned Future historians and thought that was pretty optimistic. 🤔

I'm assuming that it's safer to watch playoff hockey now that I have a pacemaker.

I'm at the stage of recovery where I don't constantly think that I could be gone at any moment.

In year 20 of my midlife crisis.

Threatening legal action to force Canada to order American booze? Really?

Here's the thing..
Liquor stores where I live can order and sell American products. There is no government prohibiting it.

So, when I asked one store owner if he would be ordering more, he said that it would be crazy for any business to spend money on inventory that their customers have made clear that they don't want to buy.
Free enterprise, supply and demand and all that.

Sometimes it's hard to see eye to eye due to all the eyerolling.

Source of some years old mystery pain and health issues that often could not be duplicated in examination have taken on a new perspective in light of recent cardiac events.
My Neurologist agrees. So much so that I am stopping some medications to establish a new baseline over the next couple months.
Should be interesting.

Oh, and he was also surprised that I survived, but seemed pleased. 🙂

Twenty-eight days.

Today, it is exactly four weeks since I died.

Okay, maybe I didn't technically die, or maybe I did, I don't really know..
I do know that I did have a cardiac arrest and got CPR for three minutes before getting the defibrillator paddles twice and reawakening to a familiar, but somehow altered reality.

Waking up each day hits different now.
