Are there any platforms like substack, but not..... bad? I want to start writing, I really don't want to edit video and be forced into publishing youtube content, but my impression is that substack is pretty bad.

I wanna work on resume building stuff and do some video game culture anthropology stuff, but I don't really know of a good home for it that balances control of my content with solid discoverability
