TIL one possible symptom of ME/CFS is fingerprint degradation??? this is a weird thing that i hadn't heard of before. seems the mechanism is likely either autoimmune vasculitis or cellular oxidative stress.
i'm a wee bit "hmmm" about this because i haven't heard of it before but i'm also now looking intently at my own fingerprints, and they are indeed covered in lots of horizontal linear indents that are stronger than the fingerprints themselves. weird!
taken from this (long) lecture from a doctor who worked with the Lake Tahoe ME outbreak in 1984. i haven't read too much of it but its description of cognitive symptoms seems dead-on imo (that's why i haven't read much of it)
OK seems i have successfully recruited a gang of fellow chronically ill people whose fingerprints have worn off, so we're all going to rob a bank together
