If I'm reading the discourse achievements correctly, it seems my post calling for a total ban on AI in #GNOME is currently the second–most liked post in the forum's history.

Multiple GNOME contributors have told me that they feel it is pointless to vocally oppose the use of generative tooling and that they feel it is just a matter of time before a pro-slop policy is officially adopted by GNOME.
I want you all to know that the relentlessly anti-AI stance is the popular opinion. If you state your opposition as well, you'll be in good and plentiful company.
@hipsterelectron There has for decades been a belief among players that without having exclusive games, there would be nothing differentiating each platform and there'd be no point in getting one over the other. Which I think is laughable.
Are there any good video players for Linux for TV shows? The user experience I'm seeking is:
- I select a folder to play
- I start watching
- I close the app
- Sometime later, I reopen the app and it loads the playlist I was watching, at roughly the same position
In essence, I want the Netflix viewing experience except with the media I already have.
Please don't recommend hacks. I'm looking for sane defaults. I prefer an app that targets #GNOME but, really, anything will do.
The fact that hyperscalers have created a RAM shortage so severe that they may no longer be able to continue scaling up soon, likely leading to on-paper economic contraction as they are the only thing keeping the US economy afloat, which in turn could lead to stock sell-offs, including the very companies that need to constantly grow in value to keep themselves afloat, thus popping the bubble that has allowed them to get to this point in the first place, is very funny to me.
I'm getting a lot of AI-written questions about my "Don't AI at me" shirt that are answered by my "Don't AI at me" shirt, if only people cared to read it instead of asking ChatGPT to summarize.
I saw a post here that suggested that GNOME becoming "less featureful" was somehow regressive. I strongly disagree.

I develop apps for #GNOME on Linux using #Lua. I strive to keep things simple, and simplify even further. For fun, I like to play retro Nintendo games. I'm not much of a fan of multiplayer, but #PokémonChampions is slowly changing that.🇨🇦🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈👩💻
