The plain truth of it is that if you've invented a social, political, and economic system that can't arrest the fascists, can't remove fascists in positions of authority, can't stop fascist violence and pogroms, can't prevent fascists from spreading eliminationist propaganda, and yet simultaneously DOES allow butt-beaming fascists to seize executive power and begin erasing "undesirables" from public life, than that system has absolutely no value to me whatsoever and I owe it nothing whatsoever.

I'm not saying DON'T celebrate Trump getting Capone'd like this; but I also find it difficult to believe you slay the fascist dragon by arresting Derr Leader for lying about hush money payments to his Girl Friday.

Just because you don't understand the game fascists are playing, doesn't mean there isn't a game.

He bought Twitter to normalize fascist thought as part of a plot to get a future president in his pocket, and protect the accumulation of capital at all costs in the face of a boiling planet.

The only reason I have continued to use the hellsite is because of the news feed; I would of course like a news feed here on Mastodon because then I'd close Tweetdeck and probably just never open it again

That having been said, I do not miss the abundance of winger media and "just asking questions" intellectuals there, and y'all came into these folks' space essentially demanding a right to share mainstreamed transphobia.

Like, whether you like it or not, this is a left-leaning space that clearly follows a harm reduction, community focus ethos.

Y'all showed up, started posting bigotry, got called out by one of your own members and said "that's not transphobia because it's in the new york times."

That's not now this place works, and folks are just gonna turn your tap off.
