Global solar PV capacity is growing at a record pace, and so is its contribution to global electricity production. Last year's average capacity was 1.9 TW, good for ~2,300 TWh, a little over 7% of the total.
This year's average 2.5 TW will produce ~3,000 TWh. That's over 9% of the total!

The 700 TWh additional solar electricity this year will cover ~60% of the growth in global electricity demand.
Its 3,000 TWh production would also make 2025 the first year that electricity from solar PV exceeds that of nuclear power (2,844 TWh in 2024 and slowly growing).

OK, it's official now. The Netherlands' main meteorological station in De Bilt has its driest month of March on record (1901-), by far.
With just 1.5 mm of rain, it was 97.4% below 'normal' (58 mm) and 79% below the 1929 record so far (7.1 mm).
No rain foreseen for the coming 14 days either.
