NASA satellites reveal abrupt drop in global freshwater levels. Around 2014, we lost 1,200 km³ and it didn't come back. More droughts, and higher rain runoff due to uneven distribution over the year.

Plankton populations, essential to marine ecosystems, are declining due to warming oceans and rising acidification. Plankton also play a key role in climate regulation by trapping carbon in their shells, which sink to the seafloor.

.. not so high area burned in the US (a positive!)

.. high number of billion-dollar floods in the US
.. high number of extremely hot days.
