Never forget that the clowns who are currently saying "We can't stop climate change, just accept it" are the same people who spent the last decade doing everything possible to prevent us from stopping climate change.

An American oil company connected to Trump is preparing to sink wells in remote Greenland despite not having received permission from the local authorities.
Materials to prepare for drilling were brought ashore in recent days on Greenland’s eastern coast.

This burning summer is the proof: the voices of climate denial aren’t just delusional, they’re deadly. From the Mayor of London.

Five days ago, the Rhine - at the point where it enters the Netherlands - reached its lowest level ever recorded: 6.47 meter above sea level.
Now it's at 6.35 m.
Monday, Vienna (capital of Austria, city of 2 million) broke it's all-time high temperature record: 40.1°C.
And today again: 40.8°C!

Angry farmers block Dutch highway but don't get fined. Because... they had covered their licence plates 🤦♂️🤦♀️🤦
The police: that's illegal, but there was little we could do about it "given the situation" 🤡
The difference with the treatment of XR climate activists doing the same on foot is striking.

But if we don't reduce emissions to zero, the situation will get even worse, and eventually get out of hand with tipping points being crossed.
So, logic has it that we need to reduce emissions to zero. Adults should be able to handle this.

The nasty little thing with climate change is that the situation progressively gets worse as long as we emit greenhouse gases, and that is irreversible.
So there's no happy message "Let's bring emissions to zero and then everything will be alright"
Nope, everything will be worse than it is now.

Taking the electric car to Norway, and noting the enormous difference between German Raststätte (dirty, junk food, too few chargers, some out of order, out in the rain) and their Danish equivalents (clean, OK food, ample chargers, all functioning, under a solar roof).
Spain's PM Sánchez, speaking at a firefighters’ command post near Madrid, connects the dots:
"Spain and Portugal are experiencing the consequences of the climate emergency, from fires and storms to heavy snowfalls."

Wildfires are raging in Europe as over 80,000 forced to evacuate. Spain has declared a national emergency and, in France, two fires threaten a major tourist hotspot. Two fires merge outside Madrid, with a third on the verge of combining. https://news.sky.com/story/europe-wildfires-latest-french-tourist-hotspot-evacuated-as-national-emergency-declared-in-spain-13566532
Austerity and frugality are cleverly chosen words for what often simply means cuts in government support and services for lower income households and the general public to ensure that higher incomes can keep more of their money for themselves.
The well deserved victory of Spain over Argentina has a sweetener: Trump hates Spain's Sanchez (for not supporting his illegal war) and admires Argentina's far-right Milei.
"Ever more people are annoyed by the climate being so pushy these days, with all its heatwaves, wildfires, and floods. KLM agrees: Freedom of expression is valuable, but if we can't do our work because people get hesitant to book flights to Italy, we have to ask whether we can still tolerate this." /s

June 2026 was the second-warmest June on record globally, 0.12°C cooler than the warmest June in 2024.
The average global temperature for the last 12 months (July 2025 to June 2026) was 0.55°C above the 1991-2020 average, and 1.43°C above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial average.
It seems hard for many to understand that the quality of the referee's decision on Balogun's foul is irrelevant to the case of Trump-Infantino corruption. It's a fake tournament now. If not already since sending home Africa's top referee.
3:20 p.m. in the Netherlands, and the first part of the country has reached temperatures above 38°C, with two stations above the 38.4 mark that used to be the all-time national high for 75 years, and was first exceeded in 2019.
4 p.m.: Today has become the hottest June day ever at @knmi.nl's main met station De Bilt: 36.5°C, and 39°C was reached in the north of Limburg province.
I'm afraid that many here in the Netherlands don't fully understand yet how hot the coming days will be. We're heading for 4 consecutive days like this (map for Wednesday). 35°C really feels different than 30°C!
The weirdest part is that this already happens in June.
(It's climate change at work)
