@chris I've had to deal with lots of different systems during my work career. On-Site MS Exchange with Windows and Outlook, a Zimbra server with IMAP, CalDav and CardDav, but unreliable connectivity, Google Workspace, and such, and the most reliable way to access Mail, Calendar and Reminders has always been Apple's native Mac apps. When I got my first Mac in 2007, and noticed how well Calendar works out of the box with VoiceOver, I never looked back to anything else, and when I had to use Windows, I always missed the straight-forward no-nonsense approach of the Apple offering.

Just wanted to add ActivityPub support for the blog, but the ActivityPub plugin is no longer available to install into ClassicPress. I guess since @pfefferle works for Automattic now, and the ActivityPub plugin is being developed under that banner, supporting non-Gutenberg forks of WordPress, like ClassicPress, is no longer wanted or too low a priority. Awww well, I am not willing to switch to WordPress for this, and then have to deal with all the inconvenience and severely limited efficiency that comes with being forced to using Gutenberg. So y'all will just have to used the RSS feed or follow this account on the fediverse for blog updates.

@chris Oh OK! I'm curious what issues they were having. I have used it for a couple of years now, even when I was still also using Windows, and it was working fine for me there, too. On the Mac and iPhone, it just works as soon as I enter the credentials. They now also have app passwords, so each device has its own login. But FastMail is a good option as well, as long as you're not blind and don't have to use their web interface, which is not the nicest to use.

@chris I did that for a year or so as well, but often enough, the iCloud servers were blocked from either sending to certain domains or receiving from them. I'm on a number of groups on groups.io, and iCloud mail was frequently having trouble with that provider, or vice versa. I moved my mail domains to a hoster here in Germany which is very data privacy friendly and only costs me a few Euros per month. It's called @mailbox_org. And I cannot praise them enough. The offering is very good and uses open source and open standardts, and it works reliably for me and never gives me any trouble.

Over the next couple of days, this Braille display will move into my home. For almost thirty years, I've come back to Help Tech displays time and again, despite trying out other display vendors' products in the interim as well.
