Does anyone have any recs for:
(a) top notch
(b) non-BBQ
(c) Korean food
(d) in Chatswood, NSW, Australia?
As I've been on Mastodon for a while I need to request that all criteria are met before you recommend somewhere 😜 Many thanks!

@skinnylatte I know living in America cannot always be easy for someone who loves food and cultural diversity and worldly attitudes as much as you do. But I am glad you are making your own way in the world rather than trying to follow a script. My nickname is the Malaysian word for unique (fully aware it also can mean eccentric or mad) and I reckon you are also one kind.
@skinnylatte So the Gen Zs are telling Pew they are 20% queer, the majority bisexual. To me it's perfectly valid to experience desire for multiple genders but choose to identify as gay or lesbian. Identity isn't 'the rules' for erotic and romantic life, nor does behaviour contradict identity. Those numbers are compatible with 3-in-30-ish young women desiring women and identifying as lesbian. It probably leaves another three keeping their desire for women private!
I'm trained to think about (dis)proportionality in terms of (dis)aggregation factors and I would be guessing that distinctively Singaporean social and affective intensities around marriage and its necessity for securing the HDB flat might be a push factor for independent-minded people who want to opt out of that whole palaver? And want it badly enough to face down powerful cultural imperatives to marry...
@skinnylatte goodness. was there anything about the school that might have constituted a pull factor for increased lesbian prevalence?
Researchers from prominent universities have been busted embedding prompts to AI 'peer reviewers' in text in their manuscripts invisible to human readers.
@skinnylatte oh, wait, one piece of (I'm so sorry) unsolicited feedback — it is really easy to find your writing, activities and updates on that site, but then I went looking for the AI report you published not that long ago and I can't find it and can't see what page it might fit on.
@skinnylatte your blog is so elegant, not a wasted pixel or function anywhere.
n.b. on your About page there's some copy that needs changing from 'She is' to 'I am.'
wabi-sabi!
@skinnylatte the alternative explanation is that they have always oriented themselves to whatever institution or discourse is currently in power
'She's a rotten, recipe-stealing [redacted], Dorus. Careful who your friends are.'
This clip had a well-deserved moment like ten years ago and it still slaps.
@sylmobile are you including condensed milk? because that's a ripper.
@skinnylatte just mentioned miso coffee which I need to try asap
this is what happens when you give babby platypodes a double espresso
@skinnylatte w... how do you feel about coffees with condensed milk!?
Here is a gently snoring koala.

And the depth of that sleepy rumble gives you an idea of the central contradiction of the koala — looks like a fuzzy teddy bear, sounds like SATAN'S BORBORYGMUS.
Money 101 for queer people — god, so necessary! And pleasingly on-point about values, ethics and politics of money decisions in late capitalism.
I'm dying at this radical graffiti from Paris where some other radical has come along afterwards with a pressure washer and another spray-can to CORRECT THEIR GRAMMAR.
Queer folks and mental health folks in Australia, I have a quick question for you: I've been asked if I know of any support groups for queer people with bipolar disorder.
I'm not aware of any?
If you know of any, please ping me a private message or an e-mail to my first name [at] my last name [dot] net [dot] au. Many thanks!
Inner West Sydney folks: I am craving old-school capricciosa pizza with the chopped ham and salty dried anchovies. Anyone have a lead on a pizza place??
This piece on the abandoned Jacquard loom at RMIT university is great work by Stephanie Convery.
Last boost (Sorry, nerds, 5/4 is Dave Brubeck day) requires some context about Dave Brubeck's racial politics.
It is a reverse milkshake duck: https://thebigsmoke.com.au/2021/06/06/dave-brubeck-the-white-musician-who-fought-a-segregated-america/

I'm a queer and nonbinary person with disability. (Here are my pronouns: they/them; here are my acronyms: #AuDHD, #BP2, #CPTSD). I am sweary and acerbic and occasionally need to remind myself to assume positive intent. I am moderately techie but prefer not to have #FOSS projects recommended to me out of the blue unless you've really taken the time to understand my requirements.
