for all the enbies and trans folks out there: a loving reminder that medical transition is not a zero sum game and you are not taking resources away from someone by accessing them yourself. go after what you want, it’s better for us all 💕

this woman very clearly said she STILL does not understand gender. but that doesn’t stop her advocating for trans people. because you don’t need to understand people that are different to you to care about them.

this is a very catholic cis white lady who grew up in alberta and heavily values family, by the way. in no way did i EVER expect her to act like this. and she has had a clearly positive impact on ALL the trans people on campus because of this.

i made a comment one day about the single stall washrooms in my faculty’s building being gendered and how ridiculous that was

she fought for that to be changed with much pushback from the business faculty (and won)

and she pushed for that further around campus after that change

and she mentioned to me today how, when designing the new building on campus, they made ALL the washrooms gender neutral because of HER push on this topic

i never told her to advocate for me, she never wanted credit for these actions (they silently changed and i only heard about them later in natural convo), she just heard me and acted with what power she had to advocate for change
