Good morning fedi! What are good modern options for running communication and info sharing for a small organised group?

I'm technical, but many users will be less online so it needs to be easy. While everyone is on the socials like Facebook, those are also places where I have to fight the algorithm to be seen. I need to be able to get a message out reliably to known members, share photos, have threads on info etc. I'm willing to pay a small amount. What are clubs and community orgs using?

It does sound like the forums of old doesn't it?
