I'm re-reading the paper that got @timnitGebru fired from Google and I'm realising now how they foreseen every problem related to LLM we're facing now. It's always good to re-read good papers (and depressing sometimes)
Remember how Spotify stopped paying artists who don't stream a lot (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/nov/30/spotify-smaller-artists-wrapped-indie-musicians)? Now we also know they silently inject stock music into playlists to increase their margins (and ofc decrease the artists' ones). The next step is obviously AI-generated music, that'll be the best move to increase their revenue again. If you love music, Spotify is really a platform to avoid at all costs.
I listen to all kinds of music with saturation (and loads of [post-]metal/hardcore/rock). I support artists I like as much as I can. I (badly) play the guitar (Les Paul & Orange amp).
