Surprised it took this long, but first large scale ICE activity targetting Ventura County agriculture is underway this morning. Well trained staff at their primary target turned them away for lack of a warrant.

In some spots the #covercrop has reached 6 feet or more. Great biomass production for a short season with below average rainfall. Keiko and Roscoe included for scale... definitely not to pander to puppy enthusiasts.

Avocado trees aren't deciduous, but low humidity and high winds can strip the leaves. Note the amount scattered around the orchard floor, and not under the canopy where they do the most good. Most of the fruit held, thankfully.
