Spoke to a friend today who is a tenured professor of neuroscience. I asked him about Trump’s anti-science campaign & his attacks on universities?

He replied, I don’t think Americans realize that even if we somehow stopped Trump now, he’s already set the USA back at least 20-30 years in scientific research. And given he still has 3 more years, we may not recover from this for half a century or more.

A reminder that it's been a full week since DHS put out a press release claiming TEN CARS ambushed one of their agents, and have since charged ZERO of those alleged 10 drivers, arrested ZERO of those alleged 10 people, filed ZERO reports of alleged property damage, & have offered ZERO evidence of their claim.

I'm old enough to remember while filing false police reports was a felony.

This week Trump's cronies shot a Christian Pastor, David Black, in the head as he peacefully protested ICE fascists.

And not one MAGA politician, pundit, or person has bothered to condemn it. Instead, they celebrate violence upon a Christian pastor.

It was never about anti-Christian behavior, it was always about pro-fascist ideology masquerading as Christianity.

Last month Judge Diane Goodstein ruled against the Trump regime, and blocked the State of South Carolina from giving millions of voter data files to the DOJ.

Last week Harmeet Dhillon of Trump's DOJ openly condemned Judge Goodstein's ruling in a tweet.

Yesterday Trump lackey Stephen Miller called "left wing judges & lawyers" as "terrorists" requiring force to rebuke.

Now this is Judge Goodstein's home, on fire, and being investigated for arson.

Probably just a coincidence.

IL Gov JB Pritzker has shared that Trump called him to demand he activate the National Guard in Illinois, or Trump will activate the National Guard himself.

Illinois is at 310 per 100K in violent crime rate, well below the national average of 374 per 100K.

Meanwhile red states have a 40% higher murder rate than do blue states.

Trump isn't pushing national security, he's pushing fascist autocracy.

In a normal world this is headline news but instead you’ve probably missed this entirely: Trump's spiritual advisor & mega church pastor Robert Morris has pled guilty to raping a child for 4 years, starting when she was 12. He made 0 apology in court. His punishment is 6 months in jail.

-snipers on the roof
-cement blockades
-fully armed agents
-boarded up ICE facility
-fences blocking access

Last week news broke that under the Biden administration, the DOJ and FBI received a tip that Tom Homan (Trump’s current border czar) was accepting bribes for favorable government contracts. This is so indefensibly insane: Speaker Johnson is refusing to seat Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva because she'll be the 218th vote to release the Epstein files. Johnson swore in Rep Walkinshaw (VA) w/in 24 hours.

Johnson is abandoning his job to instead protect a convicted child sex predator. Every journalist should be asking him this on repeat.

Since 1980 the government has shut down now 11 times—8 times under Republicans and the longest ever shutdown under a Republican—proving yet again that Republicans claim government doesn’t work, then get elected and prove it.

The deadly shooting by a Trump sycophant at a LDS Church in Michigan is yet another reminder of a truth MAGA politicians want us to forget: Since 1999, Americans have endured 2,000+ shootings in houses of worship.

1. US soldiers murdered 135 mostly women & children Lakota Sioux at Wounded Knee as they surrendered after forced displacement, i.e. genocide

2. Amazing how we can't pay reparations because no one alive today was enslaved, but we can honor the dead white supremacists who committed war crimes.

Today as I protested ICE fascists in Broadview, IL I realized three things:
•93% of the people ICE is snatching up have no history of violence
•ICE is increasingly the source of violence in our communities
•If we’re going to survive this, we need unity, and we need messengers, not martyrs
