@zacchiro @rfc1149 so, I guess this is the authors trying to say they are smarter than the reviewers while in fact accomplishing the opposite?

@BrKloeckner @zacchiro @rfc1149 Yeah, I thought about that possibility too (but you're right, it wasn't possible to check the references) but I thought that if someone "forced" the authors to include the citations, then they'd probably also have complained about the editorializing comment too. Although, if it's pure citation spamming, then the "reviewers" wouldn't care, I guess.
