Trying to use European services in new projects, currently looking into hosting providers. Hetzner comes up a lot. Anyone have good/bad experiences with them? Or other European hosting solutions I should look into?
#Oslo our moving truck is coming in two days, and I realise there’s a bunch of stuff in my bod that I no longer need (LPs, a drawer, random stuff) but forgot to put for sale on Finn months ago.
What’s the best way to get rid of them quick and easy, besides listing them for free on Finn (dealing with responses to those is time consuming) or throwing them?
Miljøstasjon? Are there any second hand record stores that would take/buy a whole box? Second hand furniture stores that do pickups?
Did an evening conference yesterday, so today the brain was/is fried, resulting in browsing the web without glasses and at around 200% zoom level.
First of all, a lot of websites are horrible when zoomed in.
But also: disability and accessibility considerations aren't a binary, and I'd say even more nuanced than the "permanent, temporary, situational" model that's often shared within the accessibility world (even though it's a useful and accessible way of talking about it)
I see fine with glasses on, and I don't *need* 200% zoom because of vision-reasons as long as I wear my glasses.
However, even when wearing glasses, I often end up browsing the web zoomed in, because of unrelated *cognitive* reasons, or because it's a preference (eg. sitting far away from my screen).
But keeping them on all day isn't always possible, and the moment I take them off I can't read text, icons, or outlined items anymore, and I *need* zoom to work or I can't use the page.
A while ago I was talking to a researcher and he was like “a few years ago through field research I found out that __ and wrote about it, it was such an exciting find” and then added “and it’s amazing how smart ChatGPT is, recently I asked it the same thing, and it came to the same conclusion as I did in my research!”
My man, ChatGPT didn’t come to the same conclusion you did and it isn’t smart. It stole words from your article and didn’t give you credit.
I’m taking on new clients this year, and have some availability opening up already in spring. :honk:

Being able to customise the styling of a page is so great for accessibility ❤️
Haven't been able to do much the past two days because of a bad migraine, but I really wanted to read because just laying in bed is boring.
So found some research papers that were available as HTML (instead of PDF), used a chrome plug-in to change the colors to dark low-contrast mode so it'd be less painful, and then zoomed in to 200% to make it easier to read.
also if you're publishing research, please provide it in HTML in addition to PDF. It's so much easier to read and customize to your own needs as a reader.
Moving in spring/summer 2025 btw ✨ From then on my company will be Europe’s northernmost accessibility agency, and reviews will be conducted from underneath the northern lights or midnight sun :blob_cat_aww:
