A #Roman leather #brief/#bikini bottom with a cut-out design, tied on each side of the hips with leather laces. Made of goat leather, from Trier, dating 2nd c. AD. So far, seven differently cut leather briefs are known. It's unclear whether they were used as underwear or whether they were worn by acrobats. A terracotta figurine from #Egypt shows briefs very similar to the one from Trier, the cut-out design is clearly visible.

Fascinating world of ancient #glass: This magnificent #Roman #fish-shaped flask was found during the excavation of a storeroom in Begram/Afghanistan. It was probably made in a workshop at Alexandria/Egypt, dating 1st/2nd century AD. Begram was a major trading city at the silk road, the flask was found in one of two storerooms of a merchant, filled with luxury good.
