After about 20h I finally managed to package the new #ghostty for #guix using the wip-zig-bootstrap branch.

I had zero knowledge about the #zig build system before doing this so it was quite a learning experience.

Next step is making zig2guix for some automation because all the manual vendoring was pain. Hopefully I'll have some free time to start it soon.

Learned a bunch, thanks @anemofilia for yanking some hashes for me and the usual scheme help.

Hi @civodul, about 3w ago I started working on some code to separate gnu (packages and services) from guix and move it to forgejo, along with a bot for automatic PRs, package pinning, and fj+cuirass CI.
I was going to propose it when I had some meaningful hacking already done, but seeing as you're cooking up something as of recently, I feel like I could give some ideas.

When the time is right for discussion please tell me where the discussion will be happening so I can chime in.

After a restless day, I finally set up my #guix system with the root filesystem on tmpfs!

This has been on my to-do list for quite some time, I hope my steps can help others who are looking to do the same.
