@hacks4pancakes I think the average person is just doing a casual check for a couple names and unless they come across something horrific right away are largely ignoring the rest or waiting for someone else to give them a synopsis on what's in there.
@prettygood@badsamurai@cR0w if you don't want to tinker with it then I'd just keep the UI stuff personally. As for your wifi issues, download a wifi site survey app on your phone and then walk around your house recording where the signal is weakest. Move the antennas accordingly.
@phnt@badsamurai@cR0w@prettygood Ubiquiti's track record is just as bad lol. I don't really know of another network vendor where you could get a list of user accounts by scraping their forums.
And yeah, don't buy Cisco from Cisco. And don't buy anything other than their switches.
@prettygood@badsamurai@cR0w "Better" is a subjective term. My background is in network engineering so I'm perfectly comfortable living in a RS-232 terminal, using whitebox switches and manually determining the root bridge for STP.
It comes down to what are you trying to accomplish, how far into the weeds do you want to get, how much do you want to spend, and where you feel the gaps in your setup are now?
@AinsleyLowbeer@GossiTheDog I play iRacing in VR and noticed the same thing for the same reasons. The visual cues don't match up with what your body "expects" to feel. I was lucky and never got fully nauseous from it, but it did go away after I did it a couple of days in a row. I guess my body adapted to the situation and now I don't feel weird when racing.
@GossiTheDog If they're not doing exfil on SMB's then where is the leverage? Is it just a smash & grab and a txt file that says "we encrypted your data. Pay $$$ to get the decryption key." ?
@GossiTheDog I do find it interesting that both AMD and Intel haven't announced that they're going to start making AI-focused GPU's. Yes, nVidia has been the leader for raw GPU compute for a decade or more, but both AMD and Intel compete (somewhat) in the GPU market.
Or even that no China-based chip manufacturer hasn't stepped into the ring either.
Former child. Current goblin.I've done everything from building drag cars to engineered soils testing.Last decade has been in network and infrastructure administration, and I must've walked through the wrong door or something because now I do Cybersecurity. Privacy advocate, love finding loopholes and making systems do things they weren't designed for. Never felt more "these are my people" than I have in infosec. Extremely lucky to be here.Probably the only person here with justified imposter syndrome and am hoping I can learn enough through osmosis by shitposting here that I'm capable of contributing something.
