What happened is, Donald Trump advised voters to vote against Republican Party politicians who were not totally loyal to him. Republican voters followed his advice and ended the political careers of Sen. John Cornyn, Sen. Bill Cassidy, and Rep. Thomas Massie, but then primary season ended, and more Republican politicians feel free to defy Trump.
