1. You are right, but stating that fact doesn't automatically dismisses the study. TBH, I only read the paper's abstract and couldn't possibly evaluate how scientific it is. Would love to read a proper critique.

3. Also true, but it is a significant and important demographic, so I'm not sure how this fact can be detrimental to the experiment.

True when you are small / medium. But we are talking about multibillion companies working with monopolies here. It is not the same.

And I would say that is a wrong assumption. A logical fallacy ignoring important factors like power dynamics, psychology, etc.

IDK. But even if they did, it doesn't automatically follow that they are extracting tons of value from it. But if that is not the case, why they don't stop? IDK... Marketing, hype, some sense of increased productivity?

Developers will predict a 20% productivity gain by using AI when, in fact, it is slowing them down by 19% (https://arxiv.org/abs/2507.09089). Why do they do it? IDK, have you seen how much coorporations are shoving AI down our throats?

I'm sorry. Advocating was a terrible word choice. English is not my first language... When I read "They are RAVING about how much value AI is adding to their lives..." I assumed, most possibly wrongfully, that you were mentioning "non technical" usages of AI, outside of trying to accomplish a technical goal. That is what I meant by "advocating".
