For #MountainMonday I have this view from Foster's Point, an easily reachable vista point along the long-distance Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in the Laguna Mountains of San Diego County, California. In spring, the transition from higher-elevation green mountain chaparral to the barren desert is clearly visible.

"Waterfall Light" for #TextureTuesday

This rainbow formed in the spray of Upper Rainbow Falls of the San Joaquin River, at Devil's Postpile National Monument near Mammoth Lakes in California's Eastern Sierra. I loved the combination of all the textures and colors and the somewhat abstract quality that the combination of it all took on.

#ThrowbackThursday to May 2016, when I had the opportunity to use a friend's infrared-converted camera (and had fun with it😁).

The invisible IR light is "shifted" into our human range through white balance, so anything goes with regards to color — there's no one "right" way for it to look...

Therefore, it's common to use black and white, or to swap the red & blue channels, in order to get a blue sky (what I did here).

For #MountainMonday I have this view from an old favorite hike (while I still lived in Bavaria, Germany), to the summit of Dürrnbachhorn from Winklmoosalm, and then back in a loop via Wildalphorn.

In the photo are the impressive rock formations of Grosses Häuslhorn (left, with Watzmann behind it) and Hocheisspitze (right) in autumn, with larch trees turning color and a gentle haze in the valleys.

This less common/popular view of the iconic formation can be seen from Golden Canyon — the loop that includes Gower Gulch is one of the most popular hikes in Death Valley National Park, and for good reason: the landscape is just astonishing.

"Oscillations (6:15)" for #MeerMittwoch

I photographed these tide pools many many times over the years. Here they are mostly buried by sand (which winter storms will eventually wash away) and under the remnants of nice late-summer monsoon clouds on an early morning in September. I like the calm subtlety and pastel colors very much.
